1. Introduction
Welcome to Laddro. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and Laddro Digital UG (haftungsbeschränkt) ("Laddro," "we," "us," or "our"), Belziger Str. 69-71, 10823 Berlin, Germany, governing your access to and use of the website www.laddro.com (the "Website") and all related services, applications, and features (collectively, the "Service").
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.
2. Eligibility
To use the Service, you must:
- Be at least 16 years of age. If you are between 16 and 18 years of age, you represent that you have obtained the consent of your parent or legal guardian to use the Service.
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement under the laws of your jurisdiction.
- Not be barred from using the Service under any applicable law.
By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet all eligibility requirements.
3. Description of the Service
Laddro is an AI-powered resume and cover letter platform. The Service includes:
- Resume and CV Builder: Creating, editing, storing, managing, and exporting resumes and CVs using customizable templates.
- Cover Letter Builder: Creating, editing, storing, managing, and exporting cover letters.
- Profile Photo Upload: Uploading and managing a profile photo stored securely on our cloud infrastructure.
- AI-Assisted Features: Resume tailoring to job descriptions, content improvement suggestions, skill suggestions, cover letter generation, resume feedback, and PDF resume parsing, powered by our backend systems and third-party AI providers (including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google Gemini).
- PDF Export: Downloading resumes and cover letters as PDF files.
- Job Application Tracker: Tracking the status of your job applications, including company, position, status, and notes. Job applications are automatically created when you tailor a resume and can be manually managed, edited, and deleted.
- Token Packs and Subscriptions: Purchasing tokens or subscription plans to access premium features.
- Referral Program: Inviting others to join Laddro and potentially earning rewards as described within the Service.
- Public API: An optional developer API accessible via API keys generated in your account settings.
- Resume Examples and Blog: Educational content, resume templates, and career advice articles.
- Ratings: You may rate resume templates, blog posts, and resume/cover letter examples to help other users.
- Email Preferences: You may manage your preferences for non-transactional emails (product updates, review requests, referral updates) via your account settings or unsubscribe links.
The availability, scope, and features of the Service may change at any time without prior notice, except where such changes materially affect your paid subscription (see Section 7).
4. Account Registration and Security
4.1 Account Creation
To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You may register and sign in using:
- Magic link (passwordless) - You provide your email address and we send a one-time sign-in link. No password is required.
- OAuth providers - You may sign in via Google or LinkedIn, in which case we receive basic profile information (such as name and email) from the provider. You may disconnect a connected OAuth provider at any time via your account settings, provided at least one sign-in method remains active.
You may use certain features of the Service (such as the resume and cover letter builders) as a guest without creating an account. Guest data is stored locally in your browser and is not synced to our servers. To access premium features, save your work permanently, or use AI-assisted features, you must create an account.
4.2 Account Management
You may update your account information at any time via your account settings, including:
- Name and email address - You may change your display name and email. Email changes are subject to validation.
- Profile photo - You may upload, replace, or remove a profile photo. Images are resized and stored securely on our cloud infrastructure. Previous images are automatically deleted when replaced.
- Connected accounts - You may connect or disconnect Google and LinkedIn accounts, provided at least one sign-in method remains active.
4.3 Your Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and keep it updated.
- Maintain the confidentiality of your API keys. You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- Notify us immediately at support@laddro.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
- Not create multiple accounts for fraudulent or abusive purposes.
We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with this section.
5. Acceptable Use
5.1 Permitted Use
Subject to these Terms, Laddro grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, limited license to access and use the Service for your personal and professional job-seeking purposes.
5.2 User Obligations
You agree to:
- Use the Service only for lawful purposes in compliance with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations.
- Review and verify all AI-generated or AI-modified content before using it. AI output may contain inaccuracies; you bear sole responsibility for the final content you submit to employers or other parties.
- Use the referral program in good faith: only send invitations to individuals who have consented to receive them or where otherwise lawful. Abuse of the referral program (including spam, fake accounts, or fraudulent signups) will result in revocation of rewards and may lead to account termination.
- Use the public API in accordance with applicable rate limits and acceptable use guidelines. You must not share or expose your API keys publicly.
5.3 Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Upload, transmit, or distribute any content (including images and profile photos) that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, defamatory, obscene, infringing on intellectual property rights, or otherwise objectionable.
- Upload images that contain inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content, or images of other persons without their consent.
- Upload or transmit viruses, malware, trojans, or any other malicious code.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other user accounts, or our systems, servers, or networks.
- Interfere with, disrupt, or place an undue burden on the Service or its infrastructure.
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Service except through the official public API.
- Use the Service to generate content for illegal activities, harassment, discrimination, or any purpose that violates applicable law.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service or any part thereof without our prior written consent.
- Misuse support channels, submit false abuse reports, or engage in any conduct that degrades the experience for other users.
We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action, including suspension or termination of your account, for violations of this section.
6. User Content and Intellectual Property
6.1 Your Content
You retain full ownership of all content you create, upload, or input into the Service, including resumes, cover letters, profile photos, job application data, personal information, and other materials ("User Content"). You are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and appropriateness of your User Content.
6.2 License to Laddro
By using the Service, you grant Laddro a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, store, process, display, reproduce, and transmit your User Content solely as necessary to operate and provide the Service. This includes storing your documents and profile photos on our cloud infrastructure, generating PDFs, processing content through AI features, and delivering API responses. This license terminates when you delete your User Content or your account, subject to our data retention obligations described in our Privacy Policy. When you delete or replace User Content (such as a profile photo or job application), we delete the previous version from our systems, including cloud storage.
We do not use your User Content for marketing, advertising, or sale to third parties. We do not use your User Content to train AI models, except as strictly necessary to provide the Service to you.
6.3 Laddro's Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, features, functionality, software, templates, branding, logos, and all original content (excluding User Content), is the exclusive property of Laddro and its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws of Germany, the European Union, and international treaties. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works based on the Service or any part thereof without our prior written consent.
7. Payments, Tokens, and Subscriptions
7.1 Paid Features
Laddro offers premium features available through one-time token packs and recurring subscription plans. Current pricing is displayed at the point of purchase.
7.2 Token Packs
Tokens are purchased in fixed packs and consumed when you use premium features (such as AI tailoring, cover letter generation, content improvement, or PDF parsing). Tokens are non-refundable once purchased, except as required by applicable law. Tokens may have an expiration period as stated at the time of purchase.
7.3 Subscriptions
Subscription plans are billed on a recurring basis (monthly, semi-annually, or annually) as selected at purchase. By subscribing, you authorize Laddro and our payment processor, Stripe, to charge your chosen payment method at the beginning of each billing cycle.
- Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time via your account settings or by contacting support@laddro.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to premium features until the end of your paid period.
- Refunds: Subscription fees are generally non-refundable, except as required by applicable consumer protection law (including the EU Consumer Rights Directive where applicable). If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days without giving any reason. However, by confirming your purchase, you expressly consent to the immediate provision of the digital service and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed (for token packs: once tokens are consumed; for subscriptions: at the end of the billing period). This consent is obtained at checkout before payment is processed.
7.4 Payment Processing
All payment transactions are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your full credit or debit card details. Your payment information is subject to Stripe's Terms of Service and Stripe's Privacy Policy. You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate billing information.
7.5 Price Changes
We reserve the right to modify pricing for token packs and subscription plans. For existing subscriptions, we will provide at least 30 days' prior notice of any price increase (via email or in-app notification). The new pricing will apply from your next billing cycle after the notice period. If you do not agree to the new pricing, you may cancel your subscription before the change takes effect.
8. AI-Generated and Modified Content
8.1 Nature of AI Output
The Service uses AI and automated tools, including third-party services such as OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), and Google (Gemini), to tailor resumes, generate cover letters, improve content, suggest skills, provide resume feedback, and parse uploaded documents. AI-generated output is provided on an "as is" basis.
8.2 No Guarantee of Accuracy
We do not warrant or guarantee that AI-generated or AI-modified content is accurate, complete, error-free, or suitable for any particular purpose. AI output may contain factual errors, formatting issues, or content that does not accurately reflect your qualifications or experience.
8.3 Your Responsibility
You are solely responsible for:
- Reviewing and verifying all AI-generated or AI-modified content before use.
- Ensuring that any content you submit to employers, recruiters, or other parties is truthful, accurate, and does not misrepresent your qualifications.
Laddro shall not be held liable for any adverse consequences resulting from your use of AI-generated content, including but not limited to rejection from job applications, misrepresentation claims, or any other damages.
9. Referral Program
Laddro may offer a referral program allowing you to invite others to join the Service. The specific terms, rewards, and conditions of the referral program are described within the Service and may be updated from time to time at our discretion.
You agree to:
- Only share referral links or codes with individuals who have consented to receive them.
- Not use automated means, paid advertising (unless expressly permitted), or deceptive methods to distribute referral links.
- Not create fake accounts to exploit referral rewards.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the referral program, and to revoke any rewards obtained through fraud or abuse, at any time without prior notice.
10. Public API
If you use Laddro's public API, the following additional terms apply:
- API Keys: You are responsible for safeguarding your API keys. Compromised keys should be revoked immediately via your account settings.
- Rate Limits: You must comply with any rate limits and usage restrictions communicated by Laddro.
- Permitted Use: The API may only be used for purposes consistent with these Terms. Automated scraping, excessive requests, or use that disrupts the Service is prohibited.
- Modifications: We reserve the right to modify, deprecate, or discontinue any API endpoint at any time with reasonable notice where practicable.
11. Termination
11.1 Termination by Laddro
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, if:
- You breach any provision of these Terms.
- Your conduct poses a risk to other users, the Service, or third parties.
- We are required to do so by law.
- We discontinue the Service or any part thereof.
11.2 Termination by You
You may terminate your account at any time by using the delete account feature in your account settings or by contacting support@laddro.com. Upon requesting deletion, your account will be scheduled for permanent deletion after a one-hour grace period. During this period, you will receive an email notification with the option to cancel the deletion. Once the grace period expires, your account and associated data will be permanently deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
11.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination:
- Your right to access and use the Service ceases immediately.
- We will delete your account data and User Content (including profile photos from cloud storage, resumes, cover letters, and job application records) in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data retention obligations.
- Any outstanding payment obligations remain due.
- Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 6, 8, 9, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16) shall survive.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE.
LADDRO EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
LADDRO DOES NOT WARRANT THAT: (I) THE SERVICE WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS; (II) THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE; (III) THE RESULTS OBTAINED FROM THE SERVICE, INCLUDING AI-GENERATED OR AI-MODIFIED CONTENT, WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR RELIABLE; OR (IV) ANY DEFECTS IN THE SERVICE WILL BE CORRECTED.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits warranties that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including consumer protection laws of the European Union or Germany.
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL LADDRO, ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, PARTNERS, SUPPLIERS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY:
- INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES;
- LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES;
RESULTING FROM: (I) YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE, THE SERVICE; (II) ANY CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE SERVICE; (III) ANY AI-GENERATED OR AI-MODIFIED CONTENT OBTAINED FROM THE SERVICE; (IV) UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO OR ALTERATION OF YOUR DATA; OR (V) ANY OTHER MATTER RELATING TO THE SERVICE.
LADDRO'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) ONE HUNDRED EUROS (€100); OR (B) THE TOTAL AMOUNTS PAID BY YOU TO LADDRO IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
This limitation of liability does not apply to liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for intentional misconduct (Vorsatz) or gross negligence (grobe Fahrlässigkeit) under German law, or for injury to life, body, or health.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Laddro and its directors, officers, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with:
- Your use of the Service or any activity under your account.
- Your User Content, including any claims that it infringes the rights of a third party.
- Your violation of these Terms or any applicable law or regulation.
- Your use or distribution of AI-generated content from the Service.
This indemnification obligation shall survive termination of your account and these Terms. This section does not apply to consumers to the extent that applicable consumer protection law (including German law on standard business terms, §§ 305–310 BGB) prohibits such indemnification obligations.
15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
15.1 Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) is expressly excluded.
15.2 Jurisdiction
The courts of Berlin, Germany shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, subject to any mandatory consumer protection provisions that grant you the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence.
15.3 EU Online Dispute Resolution
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are not obligated and generally not willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration body, unless required by law.
16. General Provisions
16.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Laddro regarding your use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and communications, whether written or oral.
16.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable while preserving the parties' original intent.
16.3 Waiver
The failure of Laddro to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. A waiver of any term shall only be effective if in writing and signed by Laddro.
16.4 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. Laddro may assign its rights and obligations without restriction.
16.5 Force Majeure
Laddro shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, war, terrorism, pandemics, government actions, power failures, internet or telecommunications failures, or third-party service outages.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days' prior notice via email or in-app notification before the new terms take effect. What constitutes a material change is determined at our reasonable discretion.
Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the revised Terms constitutes your acceptance. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service and may terminate your account in accordance with Section 11.2.
