Net salary questions, answered
What is net (take-home) salary?
Net salary is what actually reaches your bank account after income tax and mandatory social contributions are deducted from your gross pay. Gross is the headline figure in your contract; net is what you can spend.
How accurate is this calculator?
It is a directional estimate. We use simplified 2024–2025 national tax brackets and employee social-contribution rates for a single person with standard deductions. It ignores regional variation, marital status, dependants, tax credits and benefits, so treat it as a ballpark, not a payslip.
Why is my real payslip different?
Real payroll factors in your exact municipality, marital and family status, pension choices, church tax where it applies, benefits in kind, and any tax credits you qualify for. Those can move your net pay up or down by several percent.
Does it work for both monthly and annual salaries?
Yes. Switch the period toggle to match how your salary is quoted and we convert internally, then show both the monthly and yearly take-home figures.
Do you store the salary I enter?
No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to a server or saved.
