Graduate Pension Administrator Resume Example

Overview

Pension administration is a steady, detail-driven career that offers clear progression and professional qualifications. Firms like Mercer, Aon, Willis Towers Watson, and Capita run large administration teams that need graduates who can process member data accurately, calculate benefits, and communicate with scheme members clearly.

Lauren Byrne is a business studies graduate from Liverpool John Moores University who completed a 6-month internship at Mercer. Her resume works because it shows direct pension administration experience with specific scheme sizes, member volumes, and transaction types.

What Makes This Resume Work

Administration experience across 4 pension schemes with 12,000 members. This immediately tells the employer that Lauren has worked at scale. Managing data for thousands of members requires accuracy and the ability to follow complex scheme rules consistently.

Benefit calculations for real members. Calculating retirement benefits for 25 members approaching retirement shows Lauren has done the core technical work of pension administration. It is specific and credible.

High-volume member query handling. Processing 60+ queries per week demonstrates that Lauren can communicate with members clearly and manage a substantial workload. Pension members often have complex questions, so this is a valuable skill.

NHS administrative experience that proves reliability. Managing appointments for 4 consultants and updating records for 150+ patients per week shows Lauren can handle high-volume data work across different systems and environments.

Key Takeaways

For pension administration roles, describe the number of schemes you worked on, the total membership, and the specific transactions you processed (retirements, transfers, deaths, divorces). Name the administration system you used and the volume of member queries you handled. A PMI qualification, even in progress, shows commitment to the profession. Accuracy is everything in pensions, so highlight any roles where you worked with large datasets and maintained high accuracy standards.
