Junior Warehouse Supervisor Resume Example

Overview

Warehouse supervisor roles require a combination of leadership ability, operational knowledge, and health and safety awareness. Distribution centres promote from within when they see someone who consistently exceeds targets and can manage a team. For graduates entering logistics, showing that you have already been trusted with team responsibility is the fastest way to stand out.

This resume belongs to Lewis Harper, a Supply Chain Management graduate from De Montfort University. He was promoted from operative to shift team leader at DHL Supply Chain within 10 months and reduced picking errors by 25%. His resume works because it shows clear progression and measurable operational improvements.

What Makes This Resume Work

Promotion history demonstrates trust. Being promoted to team leader within 10 months, managing 8 operatives, and consistently hitting 112% of shift targets tells a hiring manager that Lewis has already proven himself in a supervisory capacity.

The error reduction initiative shows leadership. Designing and implementing a process that cut picking errors by 25% is not just good performance; it is process improvement. Having the site manager roll it out across all shifts proves the idea had real value.

Certifications are operationally relevant. IOSH Managing Safely, a forklift licence, and Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt are exactly the qualifications that warehouse operations managers look for. They demonstrate safety awareness, practical capability, and process improvement thinking.

Key Takeaways

For warehouse supervision roles, focus on team size, productivity targets, and any improvements you introduced. If you were promoted, highlight the timeline and the reasons. Include your forklift licence, health and safety certifications, and any process improvement work you have done. Distribution centre managers want supervisors who can maintain safety, hit targets, and improve the operation from the floor up.
