Why Ivory?
Ivory is the template you pick when you do not want the template to be the topic of conversation. It is the most conservative option in the collection: white backgrounds, neutral grey and warm tan dividers, clean single-column layout, no surprises. It scores 9.5/10 on ATS compatibility, which means it works everywhere.
That is not a criticism. Sometimes the best design decision is to get out of the way. Ivory puts all the focus on your words. There is nothing visual competing for attention, nothing that might feel out of place in a formal setting. It is the resume equivalent of a well-fitted plain suit.
Who should use this template?
Ivory is the safest bet for law firms, banks, government agencies, consulting firms, accounting practices, and any other environment where tradition matters more than personality. If you are unsure what a company expects from a resume, Ivory will not be the wrong choice.
It also works well for senior professionals and executives who want their track record to do the talking. The restrained design signals experience and confidence without needing to dress things up.
If you like the classic approach but want a bit more visual interest, Marble adds colour accents while keeping the same corporate feel. For something minimalist but with subtle accent lines under headings, Graphite is a good middle ground. And if you want more personality while still staying corporate-friendly, Emerald offers 18 colour options with the same ATS score.
What you get
- A single-column layout with a 9.5/10 ATS score
- 7 colour themes, all built around neutral tones: whites, soft greys, and warm tans
- The default font is Avrile Sans, a clean sans-serif that reads well at any size. You can switch to any available font (Inter, Poppins, Lora, Century Gothic, and more) in Laddro
- Thin, understated section dividers that separate content without drawing attention to themselves
- Multi-page support for extensive career histories
ATS compatibility
Ivory scores 9.5/10. Its stripped-back design means there is almost nothing that could trip up a parser:
- Pure single-column flow. No sidebars, no tables, no floating elements.
- All text is native. No images, no embedded objects.
- Standard section headings that every ATS maps correctly.
This template will parse correctly on LinkedIn, Indeed, Workday, Taleo, iCIMS, Greenhouse, and anywhere else you upload it.
Colour options
Ivory includes 7 colour variations, all in the neutral range:
- Several white backgrounds with light grey dividers for the most understated look
- A warm tan divider option that adds a hint of warmth without being colourful
- Subtle tonal differences between options that let you fine-tune how warm or cool the page feels
These are not dramatic colour shifts. The differences are intentional and small. Ivory is designed to look nearly identical across all variations, just with slight adjustments to warmth and contrast.
Tips for getting the most out of Ivory
- Because the design is so minimal, your writing needs to carry the weight. Be specific. "Increased client retention by 22% over two quarters" says more than "Improved client relationships."
- Use consistent formatting for dates and job titles. In a minimal template, any inconsistency stands out more.
- Ivory works particularly well with serif fonts. If you switch from Avrile Sans to Lora, the template takes on a more traditional, editorial feel that suits legal, academic, and finance roles.
- Keep it to one page unless you genuinely have more than 10 years of relevant experience. The clean layout looks best when it is not padded.
